Shanghai Maglev Museum is located at the first floor of Maglev Longyang Rd Station, with an exhibition area of 1000 square meters, it is the most concentrated exhibition place for maglev train related history and knowledge. The museum is composed of "Birth of Maglev", " Maglev Shanghai Line ", "Maglev Technology", "  Maglev Superiorities", "   Prospects for Maglev",   totally five sections.

The Museum is renovated from former "Shanghai Maglev Exhibition hall", after two reconstructions in 2007 and 2018, the museum has made a great improvement in the means of display, it has added many high-tech display methods such as physical parts, simulation models, interactive exhibitions and so on. So that visitors can understand the technological charm of maglev in a vivid display environment.  Also for the majority of passengers who ride the maglev train, while experiencing 8 minutes of extreme speed and charm, the museum opens the window to understand the relevant knowledge of maglev.

In 2010, the Museum was approved as "National Base for Science and Technology Education".
