Shanghai Maglev Line

Shanghai Maglev Line begins in the west from the Longyang Road Station and ends in the east at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The main line is 30 kilometers long to achieve double track operation. The design maximum speed is 431 km/h and one-way running time is about 8 minutes.

Longyang Road Station is currently a four-line hub station in Shanghai rail transit network. In addition to the maglev line, citizens can easily transfer to Metro Line 2, line 7 and line 16. In the future, with the opening and operation of metro line 18 in 2020, it will become the only 5 line transfer station in Shanghai.

Maglev airport station is located at the transport hub between Pudong International Airport T1 and T2 terminal. It is only five minutes' walk from each terminal to the Station.

All the 2604 girders needed for the maglev project were manufactured at the base located on middle-south side of the line.

The maintenance base is located near the airport station. It is a main area for the maglev train to be assembled and tested, and it also takes the night parking, overhaul and maintenance.

The whole line also sets up two propulsion power supply main substations, and the two terminal parallel power supply mode also provides redundancy for the operation of maglev train.

The control center of the maglev train is located on the second floor of the maglev Longyang Road station, the center is the real brain to "drive" maglev train, The maglev train driver seen in the ride is no more than a conductor.

The line selected for the maglev train line is not the shortest, but the curve setting of "S" type. It is related to the mission of the "demonstration line". As the first high-speed maglev business line in the world, the construction, operation and scientific research of the Shanghai maglev line laid foundation for future development of maglev and accumulated experience. The "S" line has also tried more turns, climbing and cross river sections, which can basically simulate more than 70% of the terrain in Chinese cities.
